Hut 55 provides great food and drinks for passers by, rents out bikes and supports cyclists on Sustrans Route 1 which runs along the seafront. Hut 55 is so named as it is located on the section of Walmer Beach where Julius Caesar and two Roman Legions (between 10,000 and 12,000 soldiers) landed in 55BC.
