Dr Stuart Hopps OBE, a film, opera and theatre choreographer, director, teacher and educator, who I spotted enjoying the morning sun outside his front door, 28th September, 2024. Stuart choreographed the English National Opera, Welsh National Opera and Scottish Opera and over 20 feature films, including The Wicker Man. He chaired and sat on numerous national committees and boards concerned with dance and the arts. In 2008 Stuart received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from City University for services to choreography. He told me some great stories about working with leading directors and famous actors including Kenneth Branagh and Britt Ekland. A lovely, affable and distinguished gentleman who was happy to describe himself as a Denizen of Deal. www.denizensofdeal.com
